Lionverge was formed in 1984 to provide quality civil and Permanent Way engineers to the rail industry. It was formed with approximately 4 members of staff and was being run from the now Chairman, Tom Hillery's front room.
The very first job that Lionverge undertook was called "Project Mercury" and incorporated lines running between Bristol and Birmingham and London, where staff laid troughing routes, laid cabling and provided protection staff. Lionverge also worked on the Liverpool Street Station refurbishment; carried out commissioning work for GEC; were part of the teams working on the Channel Tunnel; worked directly for "the board" (British Rail) and worked on the Heathrow Express.
2004 saw Lionverge celebrate 20 years of being in the rail industry. In this time many things have changed in the industry, but Lionverge has continued to strive and grow in what has become an increasingly difficult marketplace. Lionverge Civils Ltd now employs staff who are based throughout the country - from Falkirk in Scotland to Northampton.
Lionverge have since worked for all the major Infrastructure Maintenance Companies providing a variety of Civil and Permanent Way engineering services across the UK Rail Infrastructure. Lionverge offer a professional, multi-functional service and as such operate a 24-7, 365 days a year operation and are able to supply skilled, competent staff to all major Infrastructure Maintenance Companies.
